SAT Invitation Letters. The "requirement of required obligations" document, better known as the "invitation letter", is a document issued by the SAT detailing differences detected by the authority.

It is advisable to make your answer by means of a clarification within 15 days after receiving said invitation letter issued by the SAT.

What steps should I follow when receiving an invitation letter?

1.- We recommend that you verify that the invitation letter is in your tax mailbox, to avoid falling into fraud and deception.

2.- Analyze the figures presented by the authority in said invitation letter. Many of these letters are generated automatically without analysis by the authority, so the crossings and differences detected may not make any sense.

3.- If you do not have accounting and tax knowledge, we recommend you seek specialized advice.

4.- Once the information has been analyzed and the differences have been clarified, submit said explanation to the authority by free writing.

5.- In the event that the differences detected by the authority are correct, you must present complementary declarations and, if applicable, the payment of the omitted taxes.

To avoid requirements, fines and sanctions, it is important to follow up on these invitations even when the authority is wrong.

The clarification procedure is carried out through the portal of the SAT for which you will require your Federal Taxpayer Registry (RFC) and SAT password.

If you have doubts about the veracity of the invitation letters or telephone calls for tax debts made by the SAT, we invite you to use the tool provided by the SAT to verify the authenticity of said calls and letters, click on SAT validator.

We invite you to share your opinion and comments with us.
