If you work from home doing telecommuting (home office), you can deduct some expenses such as internet, electricity and water. For this you must take certain criteria into account, among which are having a Digital Tax Receipt by Internet (CFDI) or better known as an electronic invoice.

In order for the employer to be able to deduct such worker expenses, it must include in the payroll CFDI such payments made to the worker for "electricity or communications services", which may be entered in the attribute (or node) c_TotalOtroPago under the key 999 that corresponds to "Payments other than those listed and that should not be considered as income from salaries, wages or similar income", this given that the CFDI issued for electricity, internet or water will not go out in the name of the employer.

Family or couple expenses

The SAT allows us to deduct some expenses of our partner, this payment must be made electronically and said expense must be made for us, since according to the SAT, invoices can be issued in the name of our partner.

Tuition fees.

We can deduct some tuition from preschool to high school, school transportation can be included if it is mandatory by the educational institution or if it is complemented in the same tuition.

The limits for tuition are:

  • Preschool: 14,200 pesos.
  • Primary: 12,900 pesos.
  • Secondary: 19,900 pesos.
  • Technical professional: 17,100 pesos.
  • Baccalaureate or its equivalent: 24,500 pesos

It is important to remember that for any expense that can be deducted, we must always have an electronic invoice.
